Client's presenting issues:
Th client's son contacted the crisis team and was referred to some support and has a zoom call today. She feels he is in a better place but she is anxious about feeling a failure as a parent. She returns to work in May and is anxious.
What does the client want from counselling?
The client feels her son has some historical issues about his upbringing which is hard for the client to hear as it all seemed very negative. She regrets staying with her partner as her children witnessed domestic abuse. Discussed her initial defensiveness and how she acknowledges things more and sees the possibility of writing a card to acknowledged this.
How well is the client able to cope with their situation?
The client wants her son to be supported but she is afraid of what her son will be processing and feeling a failure. She is anxious about returning to work after a year on furlough as many things will be different. She suffers from anxiety and hopes to avoid deep depressions she has had in the past. The client felt he session was helpful.
