Critical Incident Support

A critical incident can affect any organisation at any time and can have a dramatic impact on the wellbeing of your employees.

Effective critical incident response programmes are a vital part of a robust business continuity and disaster recovery plan.

Any organisation, whether an existing customer or not, can immediately call upon WSM for an instant and effective response to a sudden traumatic event affecting your employees' wellbeing.

For our Employee Assistance Programme, most of these critical incident responses services are embedded within the core package.

Immediate 24/7 support

In the first instance, 24/7 Telephone Counselling is made available, which immediately connects those traumatised with the right support, at the right time. Our selected team of telephone counsellors are on stand-by around the clock and are all specialist trauma response clinicians.

On-site support

For most critical incidents, a group counselling session (for up to 10 people and lasting 1½ - 2 hours) is the best way to support those individuals worst affected. The on-site group trauma support counselling session should ideally be arranged within 48 – 72 hours of the critical incident, as this is when people are in greatest need of support. A follow up group session can be offered after 2 – 3 weeks.

This form of group therapy assists recovery as people’s reactions can be normalized, reassuring them that they are not alone. WSM has a UK-wide network of group trauma support counselling specialists, and we are able to deliver an on-site group trauma response session anywhere in the UK within two working days.

Once the group trauma support counselling session has taken place, on-site one-to-one counselling is available, if appropriate. This enables individuals to seek additional personal and confidential support if they need it. On-site one-to-one counselling is provided at the convenience of your employees' requirements.
