Client Case Details
Client's presenting issues:
Neil felt that he has worked through what he needed to, and is now able to move forward with his thinking. Counselling had been effective over the assessment and 3 further counselling sessions. We did leave a three-week gap from the last session, in order for him to be sure he was okay and he was still coping well.
Neil has implemented strategies and distractions as his new coping mechanisms. These have been very effective with his mental well being. He enjoys a more balanced work-life approach and has introduced hobbies and activities to fulfil his home/personal life. He now sleeps without the bad dreams, therefore has a more focused daily work life. The thoughts of what happened have subsided, and he is able to move forward in a positive mindset. He is spending more time with his family and is enjoying his hobbies, such as fishing and walking and he has started to listen to music and to read again. He still has some stress at work with overseeing jobs and people management, but this is manageable and normal for him in his workplace role.
What does the client want from counselling?
